The Fangs & Forges Demo will release on March 21st.
Step into a world of tactical combat, squad management, and high-fantasy battles in Fangs & Forges. In this almost feature-complete demo, you’ll explore challenging battlefields, recruit unique characters, complete commissions, and test your strategies against deadly foes. Whether you're pushing through waves of enemies or facing down formidable mini-bosses, every encounter brings an opportunity to refine your tactics and uncover powerful loot.
Master Tactical Combat with Precision & Strategy
In F&F, battles are won through smart ability usage, precise positioning, and perfect timing. Every ability counts - Whether you’re stunning enemies into battlefield edges, blocking movement with burning fields, or chaining abilities together for devastating effects, mastering these elements is the key to victory.
- Leverage Unique Abilities – Every character has distinct skills that can interact or synergize with each other for maximum impact.
- Adapt to Different Fighting Styles – Build a squad with a mix of melee, hybrid, and ranged fighters, utilizing roles like bruisers, assassins, skirmishers, and tanks.
- Inflict & Avoid Deadly Combat Statuses – Effects like grievous wounds, poison, frozen, stunned, or feared can control the battlefield—but enemies can use them against you too.
- Enhance Your Squad with Equipment – Gear up with weapons and armor to boost damage, defense, and survivability, while also modifying special stats such as block chance, life steal, and armor penetration.
- Survive Mini-Boss Fights & Enemy Waves – Stock up on consumables like life potions and ability recharges to endure prolonged battles.
- Customize Character Progression – Unlock skill tree nodes to upgrade base stats such as attack skill, defense skill, and more.
What Awaits You in the Demo?
- 9 Playable Squad Members – Start with 7 characters and recruit 2 more using renown and coins earned in battle.
- 2 Raid Locations – Each location features day & night variants, mini-boss encounters, and scalable difficulty through enemy waves, increasing loot quality and coin rewards.
- Character Progression – Level up your squad to level 5, unlocking their first skill points for customization within their skill trees.
- Loot & Equipment – Earn randomized gear and consumables across different rarity tiers to enhance your team’s effectiveness.
- Complete 2 Quests – Take on additional challenges and earn valuable rewards.
A Glimpse Into the Full Game
The demo offers just a taste of what’s to come. The full version of Fangs & Forges will expand upon this foundation with:
- Over 100 more recruitable characters from 4 unique races, each with unique abilities, fully designed artwork, and rich backstories.
- Dozens of new battlefields, featuring varied enemy types, mini-bosses, and challenging layouts.
- A deep skill tree system, with characters leveling up to 30, unlocking six powerful upgrades.
- A living world, where the map evolves over time, as corruption spreads across regions, altering available locations and encounters.
- A fully fleshed-out item system, featuring custom artwork and diverse equipment to enhance your squad.
Almost Feature-Complete & Highly Replayable
This demo is not just a small preview—it’s a polished, meaningful slice of the final game. While only a fraction of the full experience, it already delivers a nearly feature-complete battle system and core gameplay loop.
For those who have followed the project for a while, the demo release has been long in the making. Initially planned much earlier, I ultimately decided that a great demo is a crucial tool. Instead of rushing it, I kept iterating—adding more mechanics, refining combat, and implementing deeper features than originally expected. A lot of behind-the-scenes playtesting also went into ensuring a balanced and engaging experience, which added to the delay but made for a much stronger result.
The demo offers at least an hour of fun for players who enjoy experimenting—try out different squad compositions, hunt for powerful loot, and take on the challenging bosses. But even for those just giving it a quick spin, playing for 20 minutes already provides a solid glimpse into the game’s vision, mechanics, and whether it's something they’d enjoy. In any case, it’s worth a try!
