Hello, once again it is I, Jakub, bringing to you another load of information on the Definitive Edition of Epic Quest. Let's cut straight to the chase:
Difficulty Rebalance
The game will have it's difficulty adjusted to be tougher than the original, but also more manageable. That is: Ideally the necessary grind will be reduced to a minimum, the battles will be tough, but if you know what you're doing you'll be able to win them regardless of your party's levels or equipment.
Thus, from what I've checked so far, it seems early on you'll also have to be a bit more decisive with your purchases. Do you want to get better equipment to get through battles quicker? Do you wanna stock up on supplies to survive longer? maybe you wanna get a new party member with relatively weak starting equipment but exceling in certain stats? It's all up to you. Thanks to certain enemies now being able to drop supplies including medicine, antidotes and keys, if you play your cards just right, you may be able to beat an entire dungeon on just the stock collected from chests!
Also, certain chests may include a nasty little surprise - consider it a stall or a chance to power up, but regardless beware!
Side-Content
A whole set of new equipment has been added for the post-game, exclusive to the hero Adam, but others will also get some appreciation in that regard. To collect some of the more powerful loot, you'll be forced to return to previously visited places... and explore new mini-dungeons in addition to one last post-game dungeon that will test your endurance, with all new enemies such as...
The Wraith

These resilient bastards have one purpose: To stop you at all costs. They do hit hard for something that isn't even alive!
The Sage

These maniacs have come to ruin your day... For you see - They are unlike any other enemy you've encountered thus far. Whereas others will try to kill you, they will instead heal the beasts on their side.
The Elusive Darkmetal Slime

This one is not a direct threat to you - rather a valuable source of income in the endgame. As such, it will try to flee as soon as it encounters you.
This and more to come, and along with it, attempts at worldbuilding. In the Definitive Edition you will learn:
-Who the legendary hero mentioned in the original was?
-What caused the desert town's downfall?
-Just what exactly was the Disciple of Antisex's plan?
-What's the deal with King Bream?
When playing the game, be sure to revisit certain places are specific story points. You'll find some people will have different things to say than the first time around, and if you're desperately seeking to max out everything, New Game+ is coming to town!
COMING JULY 31
Last but not least, be sure to wishlist the game if you're interested in playing through the remake! As a reminder: If you bought the game pre-July 31, you'll still be getting the Definitive Edition for free as a replacement for the original in your library, with the original - now dubbed "Classic Edition" available to boot as a separate launch option - this last bit also applies to those who buy it afterwards. Most importantly however, do not rush the purchase if you're not certain about it - We will NOT increase the price when the Definitive Edition drops.
Once again, this was Jakub from Team Epikugemu - Thanks for reading through the announcement, see you again!
