Greetings Necromancers,
A few balance tweaks and a quick quality of life update this time!
Targeting now no longer requires you to click a Monster unless there's more than one option. So if there's only one Enemy, your Offensive Move will be used as soon as you click it! It also works for Ally stuff - if it targets another Ally or you only have 1 Monster it'll happen as soon as you click the Move during Battle.
We thought about having it automatically if an Enemy has Taunt, but ultimately decided against it (just in case you've forgotten about Taunt!).
Balance changes:
Eyetric:
Combo Barrage Damage per Move used is now affected by power, instead of the total
With the recent nerf to Combo Barrage, we figured it could use a little boost. It's now very powerful with Moves that give Power, but still requires multiple Moves to really go off.
Hexiboar:
Traumatize now gives a random Enemy 2 Bleed (was target Enemy)
We're really trying to make the game less click-intensive wherever we can, especially on these Moves that can be used multiple times in a turn. We think it still works from a flavour standpoint - seeing your Ally get Blind Charge'd would be pretty Traumatizing!
Irolo:
Cultivate Focus now costs 1 (was 2), but teaches Patience to a random Monster that doesn't already know it.
Irolo was pretty clunky to play, so we made this change to help with that. Having a huge list of Moves is now much harder, but it's less finicky to use.
Mokkral:
Escalating Fury now works correctly with Dazed.
Festering Anger now forgotten after 10 uses
Escalating Fury was bugged with Dazed (Dazed was essentially having no effect).
Festering Anger was nerfed because it was our first infinite! Turns out if you used Aviken's 'Strategic Inquiry' to copy Festering Anger, they would trigger off each other and you could get your Temper as high as you liked. 10 uses should still let you get plenty of Temper quickly!
We're not against infinites in theory, but one this simple to achieve seems a little too good.
Nellop:
Dizzying Spores now adds 2 Dazed to each Enemy (was 1)
We talked about potentially changing this Move last update, and decided to give it a shot. Dazed is now worse with the longer nights and no healing after each Battle, so we figure getting an extra dose of it will help.
Pawmor:
Do As You Did now costs 1 (was 0)
Pawmor is really strong in this current iteration of the game, so we're taking it down a notch.
Boss Changes:
Double Veesting
We fixed a bug which was softlocking the game if a Monster died to a multi-attack at the wrong time, and buffed the fight. We had multiple people say that this fight was much easier than facing the Volcurtles, so hopefully they're a little closer in power level now.
What's Next?
We're still taking a look at the colour contrast and the font, plus:
Keyboard Shortcuts (for 'End Turn', and possibly selecting left/right targets)
Adding 5 additional Monsters to unlock
Thank you for all your feedback! Please keep it coming!
