Checkpoints:
So this was a hard one to decide on how i wanted to handle it. I'd say a solid 50% of my player base wanted checkpoints, while the other 50% did not. i personally leaned more towards not adding them because i liked the difficulty of the game, however, i have a hard time not giving people what they want, and i ended up deciding on this current system that i like quite a bit!
How to unlock:
Unlike traditional shop upgrades, you have to talk to the shop rat for him to sell you this one under the table
How to use:
After unlocking, press C or LB anywhere and you can place the checkpoint there to respawn, however, you only get one, use it carefully.... (sorry i have a lot of balancing issues otherwise)
(also added jump binding, so you no longer have to jump to dash up)
Roadmap:
From here on out content updates are much less likely (unless i just decide to add something i think is funny or important)
bug fixes will happen regularly of course.
Controller support:
This is next up on my list, only reason its not in the game is I've been struggling on how to deal with certain menu elements.
Steam Deck support:
I want to give better support to the steam deck seeing as a large amount of my player base is there.
Full Offline mode:
I want an option to make the game fully offline if you so wish, my biggest worry with that is storage.
Console Support:
This is the end goal digitally wise for rat quest, id like physical copies while I'm at it but even if the game was ready for console i don't have the budget for physical copies yet
MrRat season 2:
In the middle of all this im going to try making season 2 of MrRat, im very limited on actors but in order for Rat Quest to continue, MrRat needs to as well seeing as they are lore connected (subscribe btw)
Rat Quest The Quest For Swiss (DLC):
Official Release Date is February 9th!!!! no more delays!!, I'm just testing it for minor bugs in the extra time, WISHLIST IT!!!
