Hello players!
We've decided to share our first Steam News for the event, Games Made in Brazil! And what better than explaining what YVY is?
What is YVY?
YVY is a rogue-lite, fast-paced dice battler game set in a world inspired by historical events of 16th-century Brazil. Use the power of divinity, build your own dice by strategically choosing each face, and defend your homeland against the threat of colonial invasion!
A Great Entry Point to Dice-Building Games
YVY offers a welcoming introduction to the genre with a single die to manage and an auto-battler system that still grants players agency through active skills. At the same time, seasoned players will find plenty of tough challenges that push their strategy and decision-making to the limit. The game remains simple to newcomers as it relies on a single die to customize but offers a lot of replayability with a variety of builds (die faces, skill, artifacts, equipment) for more advanced players
An active auto-battler and Fast-paced combat
Engage in real-time automatic battles where customizable dice rolls shape the flow of combat. Use active skills to influence outcomes, striking a balance between strategy, chance, and player control.
Defend Your Land Through a Unique Perspective with its Brazilian Indigenous Theme
Immersed in 16th-century Brazil and its diverse indigenous cultures, the world of YVY offers a unique layer of fantasy, providing an authentic and engaging experience.
Explore the struggle of indigenous peoples against colonial invaders, highlighting a perspective rarely seen, and introducing customs, experiences, and characters of the Earth's Hand people, providing an exciting and immersive narrative.
Diverse and Beautiful Art & Sound
Immerse yourself in YVY’s vibrant visuals, inspired by Brazil's rich natural landscapes and indigenous art. Coupled with an original soundtrack that incorporates traditional Brazilian elements, the game offers a world that feels alive, refreshing, and distinctly unique.

How far is the game in development?
We are in the beta stage. Most of the content and mechanics have already been developed, and we have conducted several initial tests with small groups. Now, it’s time to showcase YVY to a larger audience and test it with even more players. We know there’s still a long road ahead and plenty to improve, but we’re very excited to receive feedback from players who will experience our new battles and meet the new characters!

Some games that inspired us
- Loop Hero: A pretty cool autobattler where you focus on only one character at a time. It was the main inspiration for our combat. We also decided that telling a story in chapters would work really well for YVY!
- Slay The Spire: The main reference for the roguelike progression structure, featuring maps composed of various nodes, events, shops, battles, and more.
- Dicey Dungeons: Combat with dice can be really fun, and Dicey Dungeons is one of the best examples of that.
- Pokémon Quest: An auto battler game where the player can use real-time abilities. Used as inspiration for the Battle Drums.
