Hey!
Welcome to the first of at least a few development updates for Gum Flesh! I'll try to give you an idea of how development is going and share any fun stuff that's happening. For this first one, I want to talk about what Gum Flesh is and isn't.

-first draft of gum flesh steam capsule
Gum Flesh is tagged as a traditional roguelike. I think that comes with a pretty set in stone framework. Turn-based. Grid-based. Permadeath. Deep systems. A steep learning cur...... NO. Gum Flesh aims to be suuuuper easy to pick up and play. I hope that you'll be able to know if the game is right for you within the first couple minutes rather than the first couple hours. On top of that, there is visual and audio feedback for everything. This sort of thing is becoming less rare for modern traditional roguelikes which rules.
I love old school roguelikes. But I just don't have time to learn them. I want Gum Flesh to be almost instantly fun, while still being a deep experience that can be enjoyed over and over. That being said, the arrow is still mid air. Whether it hits the target remains to be seen. Though from my early testing, it seems to be going in the right direction ;)
Until next time!
