Hello! 👋
We're very happy to announce a long awaited bugfix! macOS users with M-processors have been reporting a mysterious white-screen-of-doom bug for a while. We only tested the game on an old Intel MacBook air, assuming that the M-series processors would not be too different. Well, we were wrong! So after getting our hands on a newer mac for testing, we believe we have solved it. This gif shows the demo now running on our M2 8gb Mac Mini with consistent 60 fps, look at the little fella go!
Although it isn't entirely clear for us what the difference is between the processors, after a lot of testing we managed to track down and correct the error that was causing the crash. So, with that we can say both the demo and the full game supports MacOS! 🤩 Not a minute too soon, with the launch just 9 days away lol, we like cutting it close 😅
Oh and btw, turns out everyone (Windows, macOS and even Steam Deck players) will most likely see a small performance boost from all the tweaks we have done while searching for the error. In Norwegian we have a saying (roughly translated): Nothing so bad it isn't good for something! 👍
Cheers,
Christer
PS: If anybody on a Mac does encounter a bug/crashing, please let us know (also, if you can, provide the OS + hardware info, that helps a lot!). We have tested the game as much as we can on our own hardware, however it is a big world out there so we can never be 100% sure.
