HELLO AGAIN, MEOWCOLYTES!

We're back with a hot new demo consisting of 10 levels, updated visuals, silly dancing cats, and lots of other minor improvements!!!
It certainly has been a while, and we're happy to see you here, old and new players alike! It's been an interesting few months for us, as the update from Unity 2022.3 to Unity 6 came with plenty of challenges -> but fear not, for this update will be the first of several to come this year :)
Changes
Updated Unity version (2022.3 -> 6)
Improved backend optimization (networking stuff)
Improved accuracy of replay system (the lil orange glowy cat)
Improved retention of momentum logic (more consistent)
Added 4 new levels to the demo
Re-arranged level order to better consider overall progression/NUX
Reworked level gameplay flow (restart, auto-countdown -> restart, freeze camera and start timer with player input)
Made several iterations to each level (based on playtesting/feedback)
Updated tutorialization using world-space UI (text)
Focused on getting closer to goal aesthetics with new foreground & background set dressing (e.g. cat balloons)
Added more dynamic environmental objects (e.g. meownions that dance faster based on your speed, walls that glow when you're nearby/going fast, balloons that gently move up and down)
Reworked lighting (currently 3 types: morning, afternoon, night)
Updated post-processing volumes (sky, clouds, ocean, global, etc.)
Improved lighting/mesh baking pipelines (efficiency, woo!)
Updated/replaced several old meshes and textures
Started replacing often-repeated meshes with modular kits (e.g. walls)
Updated outdated & created new SFX (UI, environment, etc.)
Added dynamic stems to every music track that only play if you're going fast enough
Updated all level select portal screenshots
Added 'Join our Discord Server' button to the menu
...and more!
Bugfixes
Fixed all build-breaking bugs (as a result of the engine update)
Fixed camera being misaligned on restart
Fixed slide-related movement bugs
Fixed a lot of minor bugs... like, a lot.
YEESH, this update was hefty. It took a while, but it feels like quite the victory for us. The engine update was a high-risk/high-reward decision, but now we're finally at a point where we get to start reaping more of the benefits. Thank you all for your continued support <3
We're stupidly excited for what's to come, so make sure you stick around ːsteamhappyː
Keep up the Meowmentum,
PurrfectPace Interactive
