Hello H-Hour community!
For those who don't know, the team released a big patch on Friday July 10 which has been up and running over the weekend. Please follow this link for detailed patch notes from Rosie:
Patch 2.2.4.9
One of the biggest new features added in this patch was the team's first pass on voice chat. While there are still some bugs and kinks to be worked out with the voice chat, we are excited to have it in the game and to give our community the opportunity to check it out, provide feedback on where they feel improvements can be made so we can continue to develop and polish our system. Per the patch notes, "Currently you can talk to teammates using the pre-set “push to talk” key (check menu Options/Input and adjust key to your preference). The opposing teams cannot hear each other in game. Special channels for dead players have been added so the dead cannot talk to the living. Late joins have been added to this channel. Text chat needs some more work but with improvements will mirror these rules.
Another big milestone in this patch was the first pass of a completely reworked HUD. We want to give a big shout out to community member Lynch, who worked quickly with the development team by providing the artwork for the HUD redesign. Leave your comments and let us know what you think of the new HUD as we will continue to improve on it in the coming weeks!
Several other bugs and features were fixed in the patch so be sure to check out the patch notes if you would like more information on those things. Here’s a thread for you to post your feedback on the update or you can post in the game hub as well if you prefer.
As always, the development team is working on a number of things. Here is a sampling:
- One of the major focuses of the week is work on the third game mode we will be adding to the game. The framework for this was successfully implemented last week, now the detailed coding begins.
- Another project in the works is C4. The goal is to have C4 be a breaching element in the game that can be used to destroy walls and doors in the environment.
- Some adjustments are also planned for the HUD as mentioned earlier. The HUD will be customized for each weapon (i.e. it will read "shells" rather than "mags" for shotguns and grenades will not show magazines at all).
- The health bar is also under construction.
- We are aware migration to 4.8 affected some sound levels and though some were fixed in the last patch, others will be reviewed and adjusted as time permits.
- We are still gathering and analyzing data on hit registry for the new hitscan so adjustments can be made where necessary. Once this is complete, we will begin the process of reviewing community feedback on personalizing the individual weapon personality and feel. There is much more in the works and continual bug fixes, as usual. Thank you all for your continual support as the game continues to grow and improve every week. More updates to follow next Monday!
