Hello H-Hour community!
Our patch on Friday focused on cleaning of the Terrorist character animations related to the bomb pickup, plant and defuse actions and some high priority fixes related to weapons fire as well as a potential FPV exploit. We’re also looking to put the finishing touches on Factory within the next couple of weeks. This will allow the community a chance to get any new bug reports in from our large update on Friday. With these implementations, the team can return their focus to addressing delivery of additional content for H-Hour. For more details on the patch and the fix for those who might experience Armory issues, check out the notes here.
This dev team’s focus for the rest of the week will be:
- Working on breach points in Temple
- Working on objective to be destroyed
- Working on optimization in Temple
- Working on Audio Reverb in Temple
- Fixing a few bugs with NVGs
- Getting Mic chat working properly
This week is also looking to be an exciting one for our dev testers. They will begin the process of searching every nook and cranny of our new map, Temple, to identify any potential collision issues, unintended passage blocks or graphical problems. They will also be running test cases on the new Breach game mode to simulate any potential in game scenarios and the effects to ensure the logic is solid. Weeks like this one make what can sometimes be a tedious task well worth the effort. Being the first to check out this mysterious new map has them anxiously awaiting their first test build. We’re looking to get the new map into the update by the end of the week. Like we’ve said before, the results of TESTING will give us a more accurate timetable. We’ll keep you updated as we know more.
Let’s talk animations for a second. I have a call with Technicolor today to discuss the fixing, cleaning and polishing of our characters and animations. I’m hopeful that we’ll come up with a good game plan to start addressing these animations and getting them to a standard and quality that everyone can be happy with.
Let’s talk mics… This week the testers will also be diving into finding out some of the bugs with the mics. We have an additional programmer for 3 weeks and his main focus, as of this morning, will be getting the mics to work properly.
More next week!
