The Friday patch for H-Hour introduced PMN mines and all the necessary logic and additions needed for these to work in the game. It was interesting to watch some of the streams this weekend and see how this changed the dynamic of game play, particularly since it required letting your team know when and where you planted. Everyone was watching their step!
For more details on what functionality was included with the PMNs and to see what else was in the patch, check out the notes here.
This dev team’s main activities for the rest of the week will be:
- Working on our character ragdolls
- Reviewing the tester recommendations for improvements to voice to see what can be tweaked this week
- Reviewing bug reports to pull and work on those we can complete
- Continuing the redesign of Sismis
- The modelers will begin work on creating new characters in anticipation of the introduction of Hostage Extraction into Sismis
During the month of October the dev testing group put their head together to come up with a “pick list” of things that could be introduced to H-Hour that would improve the player experience. This is more commonly known as UI/UX work and includes everything from your visuals on screen, menus, and options, how you navigate and what and how information is presented to players. As a result of the terrific feedback we received, I am now able to begin the process this week of job postings to obtain an experienced UI/UX specialist to begin this important work.
More next Monday.
