I rolled out a patch for the game this morning. Please ensure you are running the latest version of H-Hour. If unsure, right click on the game, select Properties, then Local Files tab and click on Verify integrity of game cache.

This patch includes a lot of framework cleanup to code that you won't necessary see but should improve game play smoothness. For example, function call outs from multiple sources contained their own function results for the information sought. Where the call out is for the same information now it will instead call one centralized module. This improves logic flow and prevents situations where one instance might be missed in an update. Much of the reworking was also done to allow the addition of more functionality for features yet to come. Those things that will be evident to players follow and some are first pass with more to follow.
Framework improvements are not complete yet but in an effort to deliver content and fixes, the team is chunking out the work that needs to be done.
New Additions or Fixes:
- Options menu now accessible via Game Lobby to allow players to change their setup without leaving the game.
- In game Voice fixes -tested with 9 players and working as intended with no saturation, lag or breakup.
Note:The original design of this feature is intact so Lobby is open for all players to talk and a mute button is present beside players, Once round starts per team voice exists which is further broken down into live players and the dead. This prevents dead players spectating and giving intel to their teammates without the use of an external voip.
- UE4 Network bandwidth limits for both the server and client have been greatly increased.
Note: Results of this could range from allowing more bandwidth for the voice channels to potential improvements in hit registry to potential reduction in lag incidents when a lot of game activity is happening. Only live server stress testing will fully show the areas of improvement.
- 3rd Equipment slot is displayed in Armory screen (previously was missing until you opened the individual slots themselves)
- Grenades/Flash Biangs/Smoke are limited to only 2 slots to reduce the round start spam so many have complained about
- 3rd Equipment slot can now be modified using the In-Game Armory ( the i key)
- Ready/Unready now updates properly in Lobby so players can Unready and prevent round start as long as the countdown has not started.
- Major audio improvements. This includes a complete rewrite of the audio framework so additions to functionality can be added now and in the future and to improve sound quality.
- Enabled Ambient Sound Slider to allow players to reduce the volume of ambient sound without completely turning it off.
Note: This will specifically help those who have headsets without the ability to adjust various sound levels in game and found the ambient sound overwhelming.
- Microphone Playback Volume Slider changed to allow settings up to 200% of the UE4 default value.
- First pass update to Extraction Logic so that Terrorist Hostage kills count as an SOF extraction (a start towards matching S2 Extraction logic). Additions are planned for the next patch to add SOF time loss on Hostage kill, messaging and other refinements to more closely match the originally planned logic.
Note: Extraction framework required a rewrite to prevent the Assertion failures at end of round some players experienced.
- Spelling of "Brightness" corrected in the Options/Graphics menu.
