Hello H-Hour community!
Thank you for all of your feedback on last week's update, in which we showcased a first look at Map #3 for H-Hour! Russ stuck around and answered community questions in the Quick Look thread and provided lots of great information about what players can expect when we release the factory map for testing. In case you missed the discussion, head to this link and check it out: https://www.sofstudios.com/index.php?/topic/9243-weekly-quick-look-29-june-2015/
A new patch was released on Friday, July 3 with some long asked for additions to the game and a few surprises like chat mute. This patch was several weeks in the works and includes features that the community has been waiting for, including hit scan and network prediction (which solved many problems, including the jittery spectator camera) and a first pass mini map. Please keep in mind a lot of these features are “first pass” and with continued community feedback will only improve with time. Follow this link for Rosie's notes on the patch to see what was included: https://www.sofstudios.com/index.php?/topic/9268-server-downtime-for-patch-release-2237-notes-included/
You can also follow this link to a community created thread on the patch and contribute your feedback so you let the development team what you like, what still needs some work and other crucial opinions and reactions to the latest content: https://www.sofstudios.com/index.php?/topic/9276-the-patch-2237-feedback-thread/
Players are of course encouraged to leave feedback here in the hub as well.
The development team is now heading into July, which has a new set of goals and priorities. Bug fixes and addressing community feedback are, as ever, major priorities, but in addition there are several big projects in the works this month. These will continue to bring new life to H-Hour and create a richer game experience. If you haven't checked out our Trello Road Map, do so now to get an idea of the things that are next in line for H-Hour production. We also encourage you to vote up those features that are your favorites: https://trello.com/b/PDxVeWXN/h-hour-world-s-elite-road-map
The development team also wanted to touch on voice chat and let you all know where it currently stands and what is planned.
Right now on the dev build, voice chat works and you can talk to people in the lobby and in game. You can also take in reverb volume (echo effects if you are inside). Proximity chat is also working. The main problem the team is running into with voice chat (and getting it out to all of you) has to do with bandwidth. When lots of people are talking at once, it creates lag in the game. We are working on solving that issue as we speak so voice chat can be released as soon as the issue is resolved.
Thanks to the community for all of your continued feedback. We know that H-Hour is only getting better with each new patch and we are so happy to have you all along with us during this development period. The rest of the summer will see many other major improvements to the game and we are excited to share those things with all of you.
More information next week.
