Hello H-Hour community!
We released an important patch on Friday that contained the team's first pass on new animations for the game. The animations are still a work in progress, but allows the community to begin to see what the final animations will feel like and how different they are from the animations that have been in the game thus far. The character should have more fluidity of motion and not look so stiff in the upper body.
This patch also includes an early pass on the armory, though there is still much more work to be done here. If you would like to share your opinions and join the discussion on the animations and other aspects of this week's patch, please join us here.
We are aware there were some disconnections from servers over the weekend. Rosie did work with our datacenters to restore the network on Sunday. These events were caused by a couple of issues. The main issue was loss of connectivity to the network and we are investigating the cause to see if it was external or internal. Servers were still there but not accessible. The second was a crash on our Dallas server caused by the Armory. The team is working on a fix for this issue as we speak.
This week’s development will see:
- Continued work on the animations as the team works to bring them closer to a state of completion and a look that feels natural.
- Second pass on Armory.
- Our other major task for this upcoming week is taking a look at optimization. The team wants the game to run faster and look better and they will post information and results later this week as the findings start coming in re: optimization.
Let’s talk PAX PRIME!
- Russ and I will be attending Pax.
- We do not have a booth dedicated to H-Hour.
- We are showing H-Hour at the Intel booth on Monday, 31 August 2015 between 10am-2pm PST. We will be using our servers during this time. So, get in there and shoot some noobs faces off. I meant, jump in and show them what a cool community we have.
- We are hosting an afterhours Happy Hour event that Saturday the 29th from 6-8pm Pacific at The Bridge in Seattle, WA. We’ll be giving away prizes and playing some H-Hour. A big thank you to TieDye for using his personal relationships to make this event happen. You must be 21 years old to participate at this event. We’ll be posting more up on our social media outlets about this event this week.
We’re super excited to be going to Pax and look forward to our scheduled meetings. Every contact we make and everyone we talk to will help us make H-Hour that much better. It worked for us at E3!
More information next Monday!
