Hello H-Hour community!
Our Thanksgiving patch on Wednesday introduced the newly redesigned Sismis. Much work was done by Russ and the team to reimagine this map using many of the suggestions received from the community over the last six months. To name only some of the changes, buildings were moved, roadways redirected to remove any long line of sight, more pathing was added using things like ramps for ease of access to buildings or roofs and landscaping was adjusted. All changes focused around improving gameplay flow.
We also released our first pass Hostage Extraction game mode in the patch. Extraction brings back the classic game experience of safely moving hostages to an extraction point while the other team works to prevent your success. Three hostages were developed, animated and coded for pathing in this mode. New spawn points were implemented to encourage both defensive and offensive play. Actions were also added to allow players to command the hostages.
To see more information on this patch, provide feedback or give us your ideas for future improvements to this mode, join the conversation here.
The dev team’s focus this week will be:
- Working on fixing the client side crash some experienced in Extraction. This is our priority and we’ll look to get this fixed ASAP.
- Introducing HQ calls to the Extraction game mode.
- Reviewing bug reports to pull and work on those we can complete.
- If time permits this week, returning to the development of the Workshop function. Otherwise, we will begin this work next week.
I also want to thank EVERYONE who has helped us get this far with H-Hour. It’s very humbling to see so much dedication from you all.
More next Monday.
