Hello H-Hour community!
Friday’s patch continued the work on fixes and optimizations for our latest map, Temple, a lot of bug fixes for Factory and the introduction of Flashbangs for the Terrorist side. The team also improved the shot block function to correct some irritants such as sensitivity around rails so it is easier now to make those critical shots. Behind the scenes we revamped our bug ticket system to help the devs in setting priorities for bug fixes going forward.
I see some questions came up over the weekend on the state and plans for Temple so thought I would clarify how this is planned to roll out. Unlike our other maps that were built in passes, polished for current content and then additions added and the polish process begun again; Temple was delivered in complete content state without polish which is why we see incomplete optimization and lighting for this map. We still have a few weeks of work to do to bring Temple to the more polished state we are seeking. In the interim, players will experience a hit on FPS in some areas of the map and the lighting will be “Preview” and not final so you will see strange lighting effects.
Now we have seen two different delivery methods for maps, one internal with a phased in approach and one contracted with full content on delivery but the need to work together with the community as we polish. You can expect to see the same approach as we get closer with maps 5 and 6.

This dev team’s main activities for the rest of the week will be:
- Working on the FPS challenges in Temple
- Working on bugs in Temple
- Continuing the work on the Workshop framework
- Revisiting WolfRun and SISMIS to add improvements based off of player feedback; WolfRun is first in the hopper.
- Additional testing on our newly updated PunkBuster anti-cheat files.
As the team focuses on these distinct workloads, other activities are in the analysis or contracting phase. These include contracting for Animations, completing the analysis on Mics, identifying UI/UX improvements, reviewing potential fixes or additions for weapons and prioritization of these multitude of workloads that will help the Studio advance the game to release state.
As a special treat for everyone, our 3D artist created this new desktop showcasing the special AA gun recently introduced in H-Hour. Enjoy!
