Hello H-Hour Community,
We hope you guys and gals had a great weekend.
Once again, over the weekend, I saw an amazing amount of progress from people making maps for H-Hour. On that note, while I work on the investor front, the rest of the team have been focused on supporting community activities and development of an improved Workshop Upload Application. This revised app is necessary to protect file content so we can allow for release of our community created custom map content.
For activities, Friday past saw our first "TGIF Pistol Only Event". The turnout was excellent and everyone enjoyed themselves so much, the organizers Mikfail and tconscout kept it open beyond the original planned ending time. They are now looking into running a Shotgun Only Event for this coming Friday. There was also a stream run by Vice_President to show current game state for those not playing on PC and a server provided for a planned clan war over the weekend. Where we have the resources and time to support community activities, we will do so. If you have suggestions of other activities you would like to see, please post them up.
Our assessment of the current state of the Workshop beta and the risk posed to members has confirmed we need to put in place a better validation tool for files before we release the maps to the public. This means recoding the Workshop Upload App. The rebuild of the App has been started by Jason and he is approximately 33% complete at this point. A new SDK release slowed his progress down as he had to go back and redo much of his first pass coding on the App to avoid the dreaded "deprecated code" issue new releases bring. He has successfully created the ability to obtain workshop item information from Steam and is pulling/storing details for creator owned and user subscribed content.
Next task will be presenting the information received from Steam in a format UE4 and blueprint friendly so he can begin work on the file wizard and the needed integrity checks. We will provide another update on progress for the Workshop's release next week for everyone.
On the funding front. Some of you may have noticed that one fella on our Twitter account was interested in hearing more about H-Hour. In true community fashion you began to tell him how much you loved the early games and that you felt H-Hour and the Studio was working hard to get you guys what you want. He was extremely happy to see such a unified group of people come together. Never under estimate the power of social media. Thank you all for the support on that post and I’m hopeful we’ll hear something back. In the meantime, I’m still talking with interested parties about H-Hour and its future.

We realize that not everyone will be supportive in our efforts to try and make this game a reality but that doesn’t discourage us from getting up every day with an attitude of gratitude. We are here because you guys supported this Studio both financially and with your time. I will continue to fight on your behalf until we see this project across the finish line.
This week should be interesting because I do have a pretty good follow up meeting scheduled with regards to investment. I’ll let you guys know the outcome of that meeting in next Tuesday’s QL.
Have a great week everyone and Thank you all again for your continued support.
Also, Have a safe and blessed Easter!
More next Tuesday….
