Welcome to our first ever dev blog on Project Werewolf. Our plan is to drop a new dev blog every month to keep you up to date on everything we are working on.
We want to talk about the current state of Project werewolf and what's already done or will be finished in the next few weeks. But keep in mind, everything we are showing is still in progress.
Firstly, we have a fully fleshed-out POI called The Farm. The Farm is supposed to be the starting point for your journey Project: Werewolf, and the first spot you will explore and let you experience the game. We aim to give every POI something special, so you always have to go back and check if you missed something.

Secondly we want to talk about the Werewolfs the key aspect of the game. Werewolfs are the main threat in Project: Werewolf that will react to you and have different behaviors depending on how you play and how you progress throughout the game. They will frequently scout for you at night but keep in mind the caves are nearly empty. This is a perfect opportunity to discover the secrets of the cave systems. On the other hand, during the day, you can find shelter, food, and weapons to prepare for the hunt. But be aware, exploring caves at daytime is to your own risk.

The main goal is to balance the AI and adapt it to your playstyle while trying to make them less annoying. In addition, the game will have full moon cycles where the Werewolfs are highly aggressive and even stronger at. Be prepared for this challenge.
In the last part, we want to talk about our gun system. Our goal with the gun system is to make it as realistic as possible and to feel smooth. To achieve that, the weapons will have realistic procedural recoil which influences the player arms. You need to master these different recoil patterns on different guns, and adapt your loadout to the environment. And weapons can also jam; the more damaged the gun is, the higher is the chance for miss functions. With this system, we ensure a realistic experience while also giving you the choice to use melee or ranged based on your play style.

With all that said, we want to close this first dev blog now. You can join our Discord to become involved in future updates, playtests, and early builds of the game.
See you next month,
