Sokras proved to be too hard on his students and therefore received some adjustments. He will be as challenging as he always was on high Elder ranks, however. To further improve the new player experience the tutorial has been made less overwhelming. Other than that, the demo has been polished up, victory and defeat animations added as well as new portrait frames with bigger more shiny gems.
Balance
- The first Student Ranks have become much easier and Sokras’ deck scales more slowly. Sokras has only 30 life on Student Rank 1 and his life is reduced to 40 on Student Rank 2. Only after Student Rank 3 will his special attacks and defense get stronger. Sokras does, however, continue scaling beyond Elder. Higher Elder ranks become achievable for experienced players now and provide a long term challenge.
Features
- Characters express their emotions at the end of the game via victory and defeat animations.
Polish
- New portrait frames with a clean look that fits the rest of the UI better. Bigger gem sockets improve readability on smaller screens and on Steam Deck.
- When doing the tutorial, your hand will not be shown on the very first time you see the draft screen. This is not to overwhelm new players.
- Further improved the positioning of the defense setup.
- Animation flow has been improved in scenarios such as attacking into Engulf or High Ground.
- Furnace scraps the card first and only then deals damage for smoother effect handling and sound.
- Improve card movement across varying resolutions.
Bug Fixes
- Student Rank is displayed correctly in the options panel while playing against Sokras.
- Sokras recognizes correctly if there is no Fungus or Sabotage target in all situations and plays it alternately if there is not.
