Hello, everyone! ː8bitheartː
We are super excited to bring you this update, it has been a long time comming.
A lot of people played the demo for AOKAKI, and many also left feedback. We read and watched it all. Thank you so much for taking the time to play and help improve our game.
We have been hard at work on a new update for the demo that addresses many concerns people brought up for a while. We'll go into detail here on what has changed. Keep in mind, though, as we said before: "not all feedback was implemented. We appreciate our players, but some things take time to make and/or change. Some things don't fit in our demo; some are later in the game." Etc.
We'll continue to release hotfixes, but this is probably the last major update for the demo.
GAMEPLAY CHANGES
Improved Input Buffering
All 3 demo bosses have been tweaked, including new attacks/behaviour.
Turning! Aokaki now visibly turns while changing directions. This has a small slow down effect while on the ground (does not lose speed in the air).
New Bespoke Dash Attack! If you attack while dashing, Aokaki will perform a brand new dash attack. This move has heavy knockback and does slightly more damage than a standard sword swing.
The knockback for all moves has also been slightly tweaked. In order of kb strength: Dash Attack > Riposte > Combo Final Hit > Standard Swing
Attack Rework!
All of Aokaki's attacks now allow for control to be regained sooner. Making for a faster, smoother experience.
The frequency in which the player can attack stays the same.
Aokaki can also move more freely while attacking, even in the combo attacks.
Attacking while moving now applies a small slow down effect.
New "Demonic Attacks" Feature.
New Shell Reward NPC in the village Hub.
Minor map changes to some levels.
Minor enemy HP buffs and player detection changes.
Minor bugfixes
