Is Deity's Domain a remake of Black & White?
No, Deity's Domain is not intended to be Black & White 3 nor a remake of the series. The game is heavily inspired by it but takes a completely different path and setting.
What will be the main similarities with Lionhead Studio's masterpiece?
Deity's Domain adopts almost entirely the movement and interaction system with the world, the deity alignment system, and has a creature management system.
How many people are developing the game? What is Unlikely Studio?
Currently, the game is developed by a single person, me ;) However, I am constantly supported by other collaborators who handle specific parts of the game for me, such as creating 3D models and animations.
I have been making video games for several years, having released games of all sizes and for almost every device, so this is not my first game. If there's something to be done, I always know what is within the realm of possibilities.
In Deity's Domain, will it be possible to create, command, and have military units fight?
The initial game design included these mechanics, however, during evaluation, we decided to remove (or postpone) them because they would require a significant amount of resources. We preferred to consider adding them in the future rather than integrating them at launch without the level of quality we desired.
Is the game set in a single era and civilization?
Exactly, Deity's Domain is set in ancient Norse and and draws inspiration from that mythology.
Will there be various "Lands" like in Black & White?
Deity's Domain is set in an archipelago. Your capital will be on one of these islands, and it will remain yours until the end of the game. I didn't like the idea of constantly moving the player from one island to another, always starting over. I have always preferred a linear progression of the city, the people, and the deity.
Will there be ways to interact with the other islands and other deities?
Yes, during the game, you will increase your influence enough to interact with the other islands. You won't be able to observe and interact with them in as much detail as your own island, but you will be able to cast miracles, send units to convert enemy populations, saboteurs, etc.
Will there be a story or will it be a pure Sandbox?
Yes, there will be a story. The ultimate goal of your deity will be to grow enough to be admitted among the major deities after a cataclysm has left a spot open. However, we would like to add a fully Sandbox mode in the future, but we believe some extra mechanics are necessary to make a mode entirely focused on freedom enjoyable.
