The Pillars of Eternity 1.05 patch is out, and it's a big one: Obsidian said it makes hundreds of bug fixes and changes to balance, characters, quests, and the UI, and adds new features including a news feed on the startup screen. The studio also announced that physical copies of the game are now being printed, and should start turning up within the next few weeks.
If you have the game installed in a non-standard location and notice any strange behavior after the update is complete, check the root game directory to see if the "PillarsofEternity_Data" folder has been renamed to "EmptySteamDepot." If so, changing it back should resolve the issue; if it doesn't, give the "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" option in the Pillars of Eternity entry in your Steam library a shot. More information on the process may be found here.
The final cut of the Pillars of Eternity documentary has also been delivered, and Obsidian said it will offer Kickstarter backers a sneak peek in a week or two, ahead of its release to the general public. It also noted that the 1.06 patch is already in development, and is expected to be rolled out before the end of May. "1.06 will continue the trend of adding in new features, balancing existing gameplay, and fixing bugs important to the community," Obsidian said.
A full list of the additions and changes made in the 1.05 patch can be found in the latest Pillars of Eternity Kickstarter update.
