Please note: An English version is available at launch, but some minor translation issues may still exist (they won't affect gameplay). We'll be working on improving the localization within the next two weeks.
As the director of The Rewinder 2, I feel both nervous and excited today.
Looking back on this three-year journey since we started in March 2022, most of the development has been filled with joy—but also its fair share of challenges.
The Rewinder 2 represents a bold new attempt. We made major changes to deliver something fresher and richer. Exploring new mechanics and ideas brought us energy and excitement, but since this was our first time building an RPG-like experience, we also faced many difficulties. We rewrote and redesigned large parts of the game multiple times, the schedule stretched longer, and at one point, we even ran into serious funding issues.
But we pushed through—and now, the game has finally reached you.
We couldn’t have made it this far without your continued support and encouragement. The love players showed for the original Rewinder gave us the strength to keep going. We wanted to give back to those who believed in this world—to expand it, enrich it, and fill it with more possibilities and surprises.
I also want to express my deepest thanks to every member of the MistyMountainStudio team. You turned this idea on paper into something real. Even when funding ran low and salaries were delayed, even when we moved into a smaller, more modest office—no one complained. Everyone kept giving it their all, and during every design discussion, I could still see the light in your eyes. It’s been an honor to work with you.
And to our composer kala—thank you for your beautiful soundtrack and theme song. Your music has brought so much life and emotion to the world of The Rewinder 2.
Finally, I hope The Rewinder 2 brings you a meaningful and memorable experience. Every time you say “this was fun,” it reminds us why we made this game in the first place.
There may still be issues to improve, so please send us your feedback. We’ll keep working hard to make the game even better.
The story of The Rewinder 2 and its players is only just beginning.
