RollScape's biggest update ever is finally live! After three months of non-stop work, I’m both excited and relieved to present what I consider my proudest work to date.
First up is also what I value the most about this update: a brand-new soundtrack with 20+ new songs.
For once, I did not begin with the visuals or code, but with composing the music. The entire idea behind Transcendence came to life through creating the soundtrack, so if you haven’t already, turning on the background music will add a lot to your experience.
And now, what everyone’s been waiting for: ENDLESS IS HERE!
Without giving too much away, the full Transcendence update can only be experienced in Journey mode or above. This also applies to all the 15 new locations and even more new artifacts.
Cosmetics are no longer obtained through simply visiting the locations, but now require you to complete their brand-new corresponding Artifact Challenges. Of course, you will keep any cosmetics you already had.
RollScape is now also fully localized in the following 9 languages: Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, French, Korean, German, Portuguese and Dutch.
A lot of the time in the last 3 months was spent on optimizing the game for Endless. In fact, many parts of RollScape have been completely rewritten to support the massive rolls you'll experience in this mode.
On top of that, I wanted Transcendence to be more than just another update. I wanted it to be an experience. As such, I’ve poured all my creativity into this, creating a story for a game genre that hasn’t been done before. It took a lot of patience from all of you and I hope it was well worth it.
It's still surreal to see what RollScape has become, and I’m deeply grateful to everyone who was willing to take a risk and give my game a try.
As a thank you to the YouTuber DangerouslyFunny, I dedicated one of the new locations to him. He has helped grow RollScape in unimaginable ways and I will be forever grateful for that.
It's time to get ROLLING!
