In this announcement I want to just give an overview of what combat is like in Steel Effigy.
Our combat consists of 3 main parts.
Weapons
During combat, you wield multiple weapons that each have their own type of specialty. You can swap weapons at any time and continue the attack chain in the other weapon, keeping the flow going. The weapons act similar to a class in other games.
Some weapons are better at controlling enemies, some are better at surviving and soaking up damage, while others are better at sustained damage output.
Augments
Augments are upgrades that are placed on weapons to enhance a weapon with a specific element, like fire, ice and lightning. Once a weapon has gotten an augment, it will start summoning elemental abilities when used in combat. Multiple augments can be slotted into weapons, increasing their total power even more.
The types of abilities summoned change depending on the element as well as the type of weapon you have. Each element and weapon have their own specialty, so be prepared to explore different combinations and find what suits your playstyle.
Items
Items are upgrades that enhance the player, their elemental abilities as well as change how these abilities function, how they spawn and how they affect enemies.
Items can also spawn new elemental abilities in response to your augments and items. This in turn creates these chains of abilities that all work together to destroy hordes of enemies.
If you have any questions about the combat, feel free to come talk to us about it in our discord :)
