This is a feature reveal for the upcoming Armello update, v1.8 Shattered Kingdom. You can find the update hub here.
Welcome folks!
Here we are, at the third and final feature reveal for v1.8 Shattered Kingdom. Today we’re going to talk about an important new House Rule, Fury Mode. Here are the larger elements of this enormous house rule.
- Very short turn times
- Turn timer pauses in combat and perils
- Burndown timer reduced in combat and perils
- A short card draw timer applies per card
- Questing / Hidden encounter timer is no longer independent, and instead adds time to your current turn timer
- Shortened King’s Declaration timer
- Shortened transitional sequences and AI animations
- Instead of resetting the timer, taking actions grants seconds to your current turn.
- Visualisation implemented for turn timer adjustments
- Timer is visible at all times
Fury mode will be a fast paced, intense version of Armello. It’s less about carefully analysing the board for the most optimal play, and more about following your gut and taking action. We’ve found that players are pushed to more effectively utilize their off turns for card play and planning.
As you know, we’re working towards releasing Armello on tablets later this year, and it’s possible that Fury Mode will be the primary way to play multiplayer on tablets. This is merely the first iteration and we know there will be room for fine tuning. We’d really love you to take it for a spin and share your thoughts with us! How would you feel if this was the standard way to play Armello?
There you have it, v1.8 Shattered Kingdom is landing tomorrow and we’re pumped. Keep an eye out for the full patch notes to hear about the rest of the changes that are coming! Naturally we’ll have more exciting Armello / LoG news shortly.
Cheers,
