Ability Mechanics Additions and Changes
- Added abilities that can remove zone environments.
- Zone environments can now be temporary, losing a level each turn until gone.
- Zones can now apply environments per turn, so while you could temporarily remove levels of a Cold Wind environment, the zone will reapply it.
- Environments can conflict. Depending on the situation, they will either reduce levels of existing environments, or trigger a Distortion Storm, which temporarily increases ambient distortion in the zone. Distortion weakens all magic except Arcane, and boosts Arcane.
- The AoE missile attack now triggers a temporary Inferno environment at the level of the missile attack: anything susceptible takes Burning stacks until the Inferno is spent.
- Rooms handle environment conflicts differently: they simply cancel each other (no distortion storms inside the base).
- Abilities can now query for a particular item proficiency and tag equipped to an equipment slot, and if true, will use any equipment stats defined by the slot. This means that, for instance, I can have basic blade abilities on a sword, but also provide innate abilities that use the sword and its stats, while a knife sidearm won't enable the innate abilities or contribute stats.
- Ability proficiency now only affects base ability stats, not boosts from character or zone.
Room Additions and Changes
- Added Administrative room. Moved resource, construction, and priority influence dialog from the Shop to this room. Rooms levels will unlock Administrator NPCs, which are intended to roam the base, buffing civilians so they work faster.
- Grow rooms now increase the quantity of project output by room level.
- Added Synergium research room, for item leveling projects that span magical disciplines and don't fit neatly into the elemental, primordial, or orthogonal categories.
- Added Combat Engineer barracks, to support the new Combat Engineer NPC and Flamethrowers proficiency. Combat engineers can also repair teleporters.
- The Residential room now has a storage function, allowing the player to store mana and items.
Administrative hiring priorities:

Path Additions and Changes
- Added the Administrator path, that has mana levels of all nine types, each with a buff to the relevant attribute: Fire -> Strength, Water -> Dexterity, Air -> Agility, Earth -> Constitution, Life -> Vitality, Death -> Endurance, Light -> Intelligence, Dark -> Perception, Wisdom -> Arcane.
- The Cafeteria now has drinks that restore stamina and buff attributes. Drinks may include varieties such as the Earthshake or Sunstroke.
- Added a Shields path; each mana level increases resists for that mana level, while also increasing physical resists.
- Added a profession path for the Anomaly Subversion skill and speed attribute (Wisdom).
- Added terrain skills to existing combat paths.
- Renamed the ranger to the Wanderer, and gave it the most terrain boosts. Also gave it the Searching skill.
- The Scrapper path now boosts the Scavenger and Thief skills.
Item Additions and Changes
- Added Spider Silk resource project in the Terrarium, and wired it to be needed for equipment like robes.
- Added shields, both for primary weapon and sidearm. Basic shields increase physical resists, while enchanted shields also increase all magical resists.
- Added a small flamethrower to the basic research and fabrication line. Does single-target fire damage, and uses ammo (fuel charges).
- Items now populate primary weapon and secondary weapon stats to character. These stats are defined by the equipment slot itself.
