Beta v3, v4 and v5 were released over the past week and a half. The pace of updates will slow down a little bit and their scope will grow larger from here on out.
Beta v5
Features:
- Statistics View: New view that shows you daily profit, etc. Check it out on the navbar! Loading a pre-Beta v4 save game will lead to some stats being set to zero.
- Charts! Watch your Miles balance go up over time in the new navbar chart. See the number of people waiting at an airport.
Changes:
- Unlock City and Well-Served Route Quarter Goals made easier.
- Decreased costs to unlock new cities
- Increased income per-passenger
Bugfixes:
- Pressing spacebar will no longer randomly close windows opened from the navbar.
- Client and Server now agree what day it is.
Beta v4
Features:
- South is up: New setting that allows you choose whether north or south is up. Australians rejoice!
Changes:
- Fixed bug in tooltip of the Tourist Hotspot Developed event
- Slightly nerfed income
- Bonuses are now twice as rare on average. Some effects have been boosted to compensate.
- Unlock City and Well Served Routes quarter goals now no longer scale based on how many cities or routes you already have. This is because players complained of feeling disincentivized to unlock more cities if they had already reached the quarter goal with time to spare.
- Inflation is now configurable when starting a new game.
- Main menus are now slightly wider.
- Can now right-click to delete all of your airline's planes on a route.
Bugfixes:
- If a new quarter happens while you have an airplane window open, it will no longer un-select the airplane's currently selected model.
- Noumea is no longer in Western Europe
Beta v3
Features:
- Quarter Goal Icon: the cities that are subjects of your quarter goal will get a helpful icon. City tooltip should now be more helpful too.
- Draggable windows: drag windows wherever you'd like!
- Tourist destination: new airport bonus that increases demand to and from the airport. Added an event that can randomly create tourist destinations during the game.
- Freeplay Mode: can now play without the stress of accomplishing quarterly goals! Two puffin tokens will automatically be deposited into your airline per quarter.
Changes:
- Planes disappear slightly earlier in their flight paths so that they don't conflict with trying to click on an airport.
- Passengers now wait a little longer before despawning.
- Soundtrack now plays in-game. New Music slider in the game settings.
- New Discord and Twitter links in main menu.
- Added a small delay before the tooltip becomes active. So when rapidly moving your mouse from one end of the screen to the other, you should get a more minimalist, zen-like feel.
- Now get a tick-tock sound effect when you are approaching the end of the quarter and you have not accomplished your goal.
- Increased the amount of money you are offered as part of the quarter goal completed events.
- Plane tooltips now show transfer profit so you can better tell unprofitable routes from transfer workhorse routes.
- Hitting escape now pauses the game in singleplayer.
- UI improvements to the Airplane Overview. And can now favorite/unfavorite models in that menu.
Bugfixes:
- Hotkeys, such as spacebar or WASD, no longer have an effect when in the escape menu.
- Default settings now work properly for new settings that your settings.json file has never seen before.
- Any active right click menu will now close when hitting escape or triggering a modal.
