For this update we have upgraded looks and added new Fractal samples:
We've added more variety to the Live Fractal shader samples in AI VJ. You can see these by choosing 'Restore Default Banks' from the main menu!
With the switch to the High Definition Pipeline of last week, it was time for a new logo / logo font as well. As the upgrade brough out some issues and artefacts in the previous design.
We went from:
Which was rushed just before release, and especially looked bad up-close, on the intro screen:
To this more smooth, futuristic, neon design, with a hint of space in the almost glass-like tubular border:
As a true vector image, it also scales infinitely. Which is always handy.
Big thanks to InkScape for making the creation of designs like this a fluid process!
The switch to the HD Render Pipeline also resulted in some minor bugs that were fixed:
- A bug causing a black line above the flash banner
- Pressed bank icons are a bit more pronounced now
- And several back-end updates were made to the logic for playing shaders
Next up (alongside visuals production) is the major update expanding the UI, to allow multiple tabbed decks with banks, and then visuals. So it will be easier to organize visuals. This will take more than a few weeks.
