After a cheerful launch that uncovered no show stopping bugs, our first regular update is here!
Quality of life improvements, and 2 fulfilled feature requests!:
- Banks of visuals can now be set in loop mode. This means that when played, only visuals from that bank will be played / cycled. It won't jump to the next. Handy for that special song, or for the picture slide-show at a private event! (thanks djm.s.n for requesting it in our discord!)
- Audio devices are now automatically detected on start for new installs, and everyone who hasn't manually selected anything else. This makes starting the app sufficient to start the party!
- We've subtly improved our buttons. With different images & not just different colors, for pressed & unpressed states, it should be much clearer now which button is pressed and which isn't. And with the backdrop shadows, they should stand out a little better against light videos
- In full screen mode we've added a close window X in the top right corner! Added a windowed mode button as well. Easy for getting to the desktop, or closing things up after a grand show! (thanks Filip!)
And we've applied a host of smaller fixes:
- reduced the time it takes for tooltips to show
- added notices about state of the art real time BPM detection being 75% correct at best
- when audio falls silent for over 5 seconds, it now returns to 120bpm instead of going wild
- dealth with a crash that sometimes happens on exit
- updated a link from the menu
Requests for feedback:
Note that banks set to loopmode will be skipped when playing other banks in global shuffle mode. This to avoid the shuffle from getting stuck in their loops
Also it makes sense as looping banks tend to be used for special content, which you'd not want to show up in shuffle play anyway
This seems to be the most logical way to implement this. Let us know if you think differently
Other feature requests & bug reports are welcome. Either here or in our discord!
