Greetings heroes!
Today, we will discuss one of the most exciting features that many of you have been asking for. The new synergies are not only new features but will also change how you play the game, build your team, and choose which heroes to include on your team.
This will run deep in the game, so your team is no longer just characters. Still, it's dynamic and changeable with each hero you add. There are also lots of cool synergies to be added in the future, with the full release alongside the new characters opening a wide range of possibilities and team builds that will suit almost everyone. There are also more possibilities to explore.
Synergies was one of the most long-awaited features I have been working on, and I hope you all like it.
Thanks, and let's jump into more details about it.
Party Synergies
Party Synergies are a new type of power-up that can be discovered during gameplay.
Each synergy gives you a unique item that helps the entire party. These are not 10% buffs to whatever, but actual new items that can impact the way you play.
For example, here is BONEGRINDER!!! flail of the legendary hero Precious the Cruel, a toy poodle who saved the world hundreds of dog years ago.
Bonegrinder is always attached (by bones, of course) to the last character in the party, helping you to protect those more vulnerable members.
Discovering party synergies
Each synergy needs specific party members to activate. Once you discover the synergy, you can see the required characters in the Synergies menu:
You can see that Bonegrinder requires your party to have at least one fighter, one barbarian, and one wizard. They can be in any order, and you can add more characters to the party.
In fact - you can have more than one synergy active at the same time, if your party meets the requirements for all of them!
The synergy effect will be activated as soon as you have the required members in your party. Whether you start the stage with them or rescue them along the way.
However, if some of your characters die and your party no longer meets the requirements, the synergy effect will vanish.
Yes, really.
Yes, just like that.
Synergize your party
There are three synergies to discover in the demo, and there will be more coming in the full version of the game!
In addition to the cool extra effect, this feature is designed to encourage players to explore new party combinations and compositions. We know that players in any game will often stick to an optimal strategy that works, but our design philosophy is to nudge players towards ways to play that we think are more fun and rewarding.
In this case: trying out new characters and how they interact with each other!
Can you discover the two other synergies in the demo?
Catch you next time!
