Starting this month, we'll be sharing a monthly development log here on Steam, taking you behind the scenes of Ghost Yantra and giving you a closer look at what we're working on each month.
With every passing day, we're moving one step closer toward the demo of Ghost Yantra.
Being a small team of 3-4 people creating a hand-drawn 2D Hack-n-Slash game with fluid Parkour mechanics, set in an Indian Cyberpunk world is not an easy task.
August has been a really busy month for us. Alongside the development of Ghost Yantra, we've also had to navigate a few unexpected events in our personal lives. But we're making sure that the development of Ghost Yantra doesn't stop.
We're making our best effort to give a really amazing experience to our community with the demo of Ghost Yantra.
Here's a glimpse of what we've been working on this August.
Narak's 4-Hit Combo FX - WIP
In our last update we shared couple of FX concept art for Narak. This month, we took the variation which received the most votes from our community and started bringing it into the game.
This is still an early pass and we're continuously iterating the FX. Adding more polish, secondary elements and improving the overall impact feedback.

More FX WIP!
The 4-Hit Combo wasn't the only FX we worked on this month.
Here's a look at some of the other effects we're currently working on in Narak's moveset.

Implementing Narak's Grapple move
In August, we spent some time implementing the Grapple into Narak's traversal moveset. With the Grapple, Narak can reach areas that would otherwise be inaccessible. It opens new possibilities the way Players move through the world of Ghost Yantra.
Here's a early look at the Grapple in action!

Bringing the City to Life
Furthermore, we've been spending a lot more time developing the environments of Ghost Yantra. Working on everything from architecture and silhouettes to lighting, colours and atmospheric details.
Our goal is to make the city feel Indian Cyberpunk, something more than just a backdrop. We want it to feel alive, original, and unmistakably its own; something you haven't seen before.
Below is an early glimpse of what we're building.

What's Next?
We're now heading into September with the demo getting closer and a lot more work ahead of us. There's still plenty to build, polish, test, and inevitably break along the way but we're excited about where Ghost Yantra is heading.
