Hello, this is Naroot.
It has already been six months since [Poly TD] was released. I sincerely thank everyone who has been with us so far. In this announcement, along with the 1.1.0 patch notes, I'd like to share the direction Poly TD will take going forward and some important news.
Future Roadmap
New Content
(Heroes added in this patch)
New heroes: 7 Transcendent heroes, 10 Legendary heroes, and 10+ lower-tier heroes are planned.
New items and artifacts are planned.
New stages are planned.
We plan to reinforce underdeveloped content such as new missions and more uses for keys.
New Systems
Limit Break: Use limited resources to make a Transcendent hero even stronger. Can be used on only one hero per game.
Gift of Ouroboros: Spend a specific currency to purchase items and more that can be obtained once at the start of a game.
Leaderboard Records: A feature to view other players' leaderboard records.
New Difficulties
Higher Penance difficulties are planned.
Blood Covenant: A tier above Penance, where you take on more varied and powerful penalties.
Alongside this roadmap, detailed balancing and bug fixes will continue.
All content in the roadmap above will be provided as free updates.
※ The above is a tentative plan, and details may change during development.
About Multiplayer
I'd also like to talk about multiplayer, which many of you have been curious about.
I thought about multiplayer for a long time and consulted programming experts around me. As a result, rather than adding multiplayer to the current project, I'm considering building a new project designed for multiplayer from the ground up.
Poly TD originally started as a portfolio project for my job search. At the time, it was designed without multiplayer in mind at all, so adding multiplayer to the current structure would require rewriting most of the game's core code.
However, for now I consider reinforcing the weaker parts of the existing Poly TD (mainly content) to be the top priority, and I plan to look into this seriously after completing the roadmap above.
Once a concrete direction is set, I will share more news.
About the Update Cycle
First of all, I apologize for the long wait.
I'm a solo developer, and since launch I've been working full-time on Poly TD only. I plan to continue devoting myself full-time going forward.
This patch took particularly long partly because the nature of the work changed. While previous work focused on 'bug fixes and improvements,' the 1.1.0 patch centered on 'adding new systems' and 'adding new heroes.' In particular, adding new heroes took far more time than I expected.
Thank you sincerely for waiting so long. Even if the pace is slow, I intend to keep moving forward steadily.
About Additional Languages
Due to issues during work on Brazilian Portuguese, the plan has changed: machine translation will be applied first and added soon. Afterwards, I'll consider improving translation quality based on play statistics and circumstances. French, German, and other languages are planned to be added the same way.
