Short Intro...
Wuilsafe project is currently being refactored: the state of the game code is improving, individual game elements are being developed, etc.
In addition, the appearance of the game is being improved. Today we want to show some examples of what has changed: characters, blocks, objects.
1. Unique appearance of the characters.
A new look style has been created for the characters in the game. Minimalistic works by illustrators were used as references, since the new visual style of Wuilsafe is based on painting and various styles of fine art.
In addition to the appearance, the size of the characters has also changed. Now the size of the characters in height is 3 blocks instead of 2. This change greatly changes the gameplay for the better, and also allows you to work out animations and the overall appearance of creatures/characters in more detail.
* A character from multiple angles, compared to a block and an object.
2. Improved visual style of block textures.
It was significantly improved some time ago, but now some edits have been made to it, mostly these edits have made the visual style of textures easier to create. The pipeline of work on textures has been rewritten in this regard.
* Several blocks in the updated style. It's not final.
3. The appearance of the items has been updated.
The textures of the objects will not be changed much, but work is also underway on their appearance to make them look more "picturesque" and voluminous.
Several model variants have been created for objects, for example: a model for an object lying on the ground and a model for an object in the hand.
* On the left is a model of an object lying on the ground, on the right is a model of an object in your hand.
Such small details improve the appearance of the game, making it more voluminous and dynamic.
4. The appearance of the interface is in the process of being changed.
To enhance the immersive effect, the game from the very beginning assumed the mechanics of interacting with various objects directly, but this is not always convenient from a technical point of view.
Therefore, now interaction with objects takes place through an interface that mimics the object itself. To do this, you will draw art with all the necessary objects, such as a backpack.
* This is just a prototype concept of what the interaction with objects will look like.
5. The backpack will be added on the game release..
The idea of adding a backpack arose a long time ago, but it was planned to add it after the release of the game, but now the backpack will be available in the very first version of the game, since it is necessary for gameplay.
A backpack is a modular equipment element.
It doesn't just allow you to store things, but is your inventory, which can also be changed to suit your needs.
You can attach a sleeping bag to it, and 4 items, for example: bags, weapons, tools, etc.
You can save different backpack equipment options by placing them on special stands.
