Ilya Voronov, worn down by urban stress and panic attacks, decides to take drastic measures—he moves to a remote Karelian village with no internet or mobile reception. Together with his wife Marina, he settles into an old house on the lake shore, hoping to restore his peace of mind.
The first days away from civilization do bring relief. But the idyll is shattered when a construction crew arrives to erect a cell tower on a nearby hill. Along with technological progress, strange and unsettling phenomena begin to creep into their lives: birds behave unnaturally, and at night Ilya is plagued by a mysterious ringing in his ears.
