Rather suddenly, the Onmyoji is here! I originally intended to lay a little basic groundwork from him in this patch, but in the end, I got a little bit carried away and ended up taking the time to just put him in the game for real. It probably was a little bit poorly timed, but at least now, I will be able to make future balance changes with every class in mind, and if you play him a bit, you'll probably understand why I couldn't leave him alone once I started. After this however, I will be returning to more frequent patches with QOL and other mechanics updates, and I apologize for the slowness of the recent patches.
As for the Onmyoji himself, he's a blast! Fans of Vancian magic will enjoy him a lot, as will people who just like Onmyojis, and if you're like me and like both, he just might end up being your favorite. Balance-wise, he's a class of great strengths and great weaknesses, which I think makes for a fun dynamic overall, and he inherently has a variety of playstyles available. Bamboozle your way through levels with memory erasure and invisibility, nuke down enemies with elemental magic, summon familiars, or buff yourself and fight directly! Even without getting into his perks, he's a lot of fun, although quite a glass cannon.
Gameplay:
-Added the Onmyoji!
-Added spirit requirements for talismans back into the game, and rebalanced them.
-Calligraphy is finally in the game. The Onmyoji starts with it, but other classes will need a perk + the calligraphy set, as it is quite powerful.
-Added the Obliviation talisman, which can cause a monster to forget you, as well as many other Onmyoji-only talismans and shikigami.
-Made the Okuri-inu a bit rarer.
-Added the [QUICK] keyword to the warfan.
-Made talismans slightly more common drops in general.
QOL:
-Fixed a few typos.
Bugfixes:
-Fixed a bug where the [MYSTIC] weapon tag did nothing.
-Improved the "stay at a distance" AI so it doesn't just sit there if the player can safely kill them with ranged attacks.
-Fixed a bug where being hasted would act as though you skipped turns in some strange ways
