Howdy, folks (I'm never gonna get bored of starting these with "Howdy")
We're rollin' on up on Beta time and wanted to give y'all a quick nudge to check your emails if you signed up to take part in the Closed Beta, we still have a number of folks who haven't responded to us and we need to ensure you're ready to take part!
What can you expect from the Beta?
The Closed Beta will feature a small slice of what you can expect from the full Cattle Country experience. The game is still in early development so this Beta will not represent the final scope or performance of the final product!
You'll be able to create your character, manage your ranch, interact with a few local characters, and explore the early features of the game!
You'll start by customizing your character, and naming your ranch, as well as meeting Mayor Archibald who will welcome you to the town, for the sake of saving a little time, he's even set up a small simple ranch to get you started!
Mayor Archibald will then stay near by the ranch, ready to whisk you away to the Town Square or the Mines if you want to fast travel. However, if you would prefer to explore on foot there will be signposts dotted about to help you on your way!
You'll also be able to interact with, and befriend, a small handful of the characters planned for the full game who will have a variety of quests for you to potentially help with! These lovely folk are known as the Welcoming Committee; with Carl the bank teller, Sassy the outdoor expert, John the blacksmith, and Carrie who owns the saloon which... rumours have it might be haunted??
This Beta is a chance to provide feedback. If you're invited to the Beta, you'll receive a feedback form, access to a Steam Discussion forum and a Discord space for your thoughts.
Don’t worry if you didn't manage to get into this round of Beta Testing — there will be more opportunities to play Cattle Country down the road!
We're lookin' forward to welcoming you to this little community of settlers!
