We've had an incredible few weeks learning about what everyone's thoughts on the Shoni Island demo are! Utilizing the feedback we've gotten in our community Discord server, we're rolling out another hotfix as well as the first major patch since the demo's launch: Paths and Villager Voices!
Firstly, check out the notes for Demo Hotfix 1.2:
- Fixed building menu crash
- Puzzle loading/saving fix
- Right click destroy/slam conflict bug fix
- Building text info missing fixed
- fixed not all villagers sleeping/waking up
- fixed camera movement continues when pausing/autosaving etc
- fixed collision issues with some buildings
- fixed constructors not using pickups to construct
- fixed farmland destroyed plot not re-placeable/causing a crash on highlight
- fixed tree planting (loading/saving not tested)
- fixed not all UI hiding on demo end screen
- fixed demo final end screen (day 5) still showing password/continuable
- added demos for farm view and tree planting
- fixed some pickups not spawning on ground
- fixed adventurous villager wandering
- prevented sleepers from being launched (for now)
- fixed demo puzzle 1 blocking villagers
Now, let's jump straight into the major update!
Paths
Players will not be able to create pathways that villagers can use to get from place to place. To get started making a path:
- LMB to make a point
- RMB to undo last point
- Spacebar to confirm (takes the last LMB point as the final one)
- RMB on a path section to remove that section
Just as they can create them, players will also be able to destroy paths by pressing RMB over them.
Villager Voices
Lastly, new voice lines were recorded for villagers, so zoom in to see if you can listen in on a conversation or two next time.
