Hi everyone!
With the launch of The Talos Principle: Reawakened, we'll remove the demo from circulation. This also means the workshop for it will be shut down and replaced by the main game's workshop. Unfortunately, there's no elegant way for us to migrate your cherished puzzles to the main app, so we'll need you to do it yourself should you want to make sure your efforts and ideas are playable moving forward.
The import process is a one-time operation, and we tried really hard to make it super simple.
Before we break things down, there are a few requirements:
- You need to own the full game on Steam
- You need to have created at least one episode in the demo (doesn't have to be published)
Migrating your puzzles
- Download The Talos Principle: Reawakened
- Start the full game (do not start the Demo)
- Visit the Community Puzzles section from the main menu
- Here, you will a new button in the bottom right corner, reading IMPORT DEMO EPISODES.
- Press this button and confirm the action in the upcoming prompt. This will make the game automatically detect episodes created in the demo and will transfer them to the full game.
- Publish episodes you wish to make available in the workshop.
The Import demo episodes button is visible in the "Community Puzzles" section accessible from the Main Menu.
NOTE: If you don't see this button, you most likely don't have any local episodes in the demo. Note that you need to have the working files of the episode, not just a downloaded copy.
In case you encounter any problems while trying to migrate your experiences from the demo, please Join our Discord and ask for help. Someone is always there to assist.
Much love from Croteam!
