There are milestones & events you remember forever. Your wedding, the first steps of your first-born child, that one time you said “you too!” to that waitress who said “enjoy your meal” when she put down your plate (word on the street is she’s still laughing at you for that one - talk about trauma!)
As game developers, pressing that “SHIP IT!” button on the game you’ve so passionately poured your prowess into after years of hard work is one of those moments. To see others love & appreciate your game gives you enthusiasm & energy to - you guessed it - get that sequel goin’. Word from the R&D department is that it’s “generally commercial good practice” to give people what they want.
5 years ago our team (then Typhoon Studios, now Raccoon Logic 🦝) pressed that big exciting button & launched Journey to the Savage Planet into the world. Since then millions of you have played the first instalment of the Savage Planet series & had a blast. You’ve played solo, together, as we intended, & not as we intended (any% speedrunners; you are the wind in our QA team’s sails. We love ya!)
If you’re a returning Journey to the Savage Planet player; thank you & we’re incredibly excited for you to see what we’ve been working on for number 2. We’re PUMPED to put Grob, once again, in your hands. Martin Tweed says hi btw.
If you’re the type of gamer who prefers to watch gamers game rather than be the gamer gaming, we dig it. Check out some recent Journey coverage by the likes of Nogla & Video Kames.
I smell a giveaway
To celebrate a half-decade of Savage Planet - we’re doin’ a little giveaway. If you’ve never played Journey & have some spare time between now & May ‘25, get in here & invest 15 seconds & a few clicks for your chance to add a damn good game to your Steam library 🚀
You’ll also win a copy of Journey for a friend. A friend is NOT included in the giveaway prizes, but a key for them is. If you’re looking for a friend, I’m told there are apps for that now.
"But we want more Revenge news!”
Between now & Revenge of the Savage Planet’s launch in May, we’ve got A LOT to tell you about. February is gonna be a hoot - we’re gonna be revealing a lot, but it’s not February so I’ll end the sentence here.
If you haven’t read up on our last Steam update, we dive into some freshly declassified news - SLAPPI’s gone a bit haywire, a new planet has been identified, it’s got all the goodies.
Speaking of goodies - if you’ve made it this far into the update, treat yo self to a cheeky following of us on socials 👇
