Hi, Ells&Pills is here!
As I mentioned in the last update, changing the pricing model wasn't the end of the story. So, I’m happy to present an update featuring a series of game improvements.
This update includes the following changes:
- Reworked anomaly spawn logic. Until today, this system was as simple as it gets—a flat 50% chance. Either it spawns, or it doesn't. Plus, other copies of the level were interfering, which could also lower the anomaly spawn rate on your current level. I completely rewrote this logic. Now, the base spawn chance is 50%, and if the roll fails, an extra 15% is added to the chance on the next turn. This loops until an anomaly finally shows up.
- Added DLSS support. I should have added this a long time ago, along with a bunch of other things. But it is what it is. Better late than never. I’ve only tested it on my own PC, and the performance boost is around 75% to 125% over the base FPS, depending on the preset. Given how power-hungry Lumen GI is, I figure this option will come in handy for some of you.
- Completely overhauled 5 anomalies. Yes, those annoying ones. To the people who managed to find all those infuriating benches and stands—you will forever be heroes in my eyes! Future players will have a much easier and less tedious time.
- Added new themed items to the location. I won't say too much here; I'll just drop a picture below.
- Changed the main menu music. Since I integrated DLSS, the new DLL files added about 100 MB to the game’s disk space. So, I replaced the music track with a shorter, looping one that weighs 10 times less, and also cleared out a couple of unused textures that should have been deleted from the project ages ago.
- Minor logic fixes. Just some small tweaks that I didn’t write down and have already forgotten about.
I might throw in a few more hotfixes in the near future. I tested the game on my end and beat it 3 times with a full achievement reset. Everything works fine. But bugs will be bugs. So, as always, please report any bugs or issues you run into. On top of that, another major themed update is on the way for the game.
Best Regards,
Ells&Pills
