Hello everyone! Winter is ending, and with it we need to summarize the results of this period. To tell you the truth, I'm surprised how fast the time flew by, because I wrote the fall "Game State" as if it was yesterday. But that's not the point
Let's talk about what goals were accomplished this season:
At least 1 melee weapon- At least 1 mid-range weapon
Tidying up the sandbox test location.- Adding all missing objects to the map editor
- Music system
- 1-2 more enemy NPCs besides WMPv1
.
Only 2 goals out of 6 completed. Not enough? I guess. But the work that wasn't listed in the objectives was done. For example:
- Added some decorative functional objects (interactive buttons, sources of settling, text banners).
- Added water and the ability to swim in it (still in test mode)
- Significantly revised mechanics of dash and grapple-hook: they are now more predictable and convenient in real gameplay, and they can no longer be abused to gain impossible speeds.
- The game HUD has been completely changed and a bunch of nice animations have been added to it.
- There were a lot of improvements and bugfixes that make the game more pleasant.
But the coolest thing is of course the new melee weapons. Namely, fists. Yes, it may not sound very cool when there is already a katana as a melee weapon, but fists have their own chips.
For example, fists are capable of hitting combos with quick punches on the LMB, and making a finishing blow on pressing the RMB, which does more damage the more punches you hit with quick punches. It also throws the enemy into the air, using the same system: more hits - stronger throws. The most interesting thing is that if a player jumps up right before the finishing hit, they will fly up with the enemy when making the finishing hit, and will be able to perform a chain of combos in the air until the unfortunate enemy dies.

Also, a feature of all weapons in the melee class is the ability to use them quickly. So, with a katana, you can strike quickly without switching weapons. At the same time, if the strike hits at the moment a projectile hits you - the projectile will be reflected. Yes, yes, it will be parried. Fists, on the other hand, have a different quick strike. It is done not with the fists, but with the foot, and it has a lot of uses.
The leg is capable of throwing back enemies, and if the player was in the air at the moment of the hit, they will be thrown back, no matter whether the player hit the enemy or some surface. In fact, you can push off of anything with your foot, thus easily gaining height.

Overall: the fists turned out interesting, but more work needs to be done on them, gather feedback, and make the adjustments this weapon needs.
Speaking of work: I quit my job! This means that in the near future (2-3 months) I will be able to fully devote myself to game development and content creation, which is a great thing.
What else I'm excited about in this update is the new Sandbox mode location. When I made it, I had two goals: functionality and beauty. I achieved beauty with nice lighting and effects on the location, but functionality is possible thanks to modularity. Basically, the location is a cylinder, inside of which you can make different passages, and in each passage you can make a separate room. Thanks to this, you can make a lot of different rooms, where the most different mechanics of the game will be tested.

That's it for now. As I said in the last report - we are working on letting players try out the free one-week test, collect as much feedback as possible, and work from there. As usual, I won't promise when that will be. I'd like it as soon as possible, of course, but I can't promise that at the moment.
Conclusions:
- .
- Added a lot of things that weren't mentioned in the predetermined goals
- Completed 2 out of 6 goals
- Remaining goals should be tried to close during the spring, as there is free time.
- The best changes of the season are the fists and the new sandbox location.
- The game is on the vishlist of 5,454 people (-20).
Thank you all so much for your support, testing (who have the INDEV closed version), and donations for the development of the game. Have a great spring holidays, and we'll see you at the end of May!

The picture above is a pre-render, these animations are not in the game.
