Ghost Orbs Are Here
Ghost Orbs have been added as a brand-new evidence type!
Ghost Orbs are normally invisible to the naked eye and can only be seen using infrared vision, adding another reason to keep an eye on your cameras.
Ghost Orbs are normally only visible through infrared vision.
Orbs can also be photographed using the cellphone camera flash.
New Remote Camera System
A new remotely viewable camera has been added, giving investigators another way to monitor paranormal activity from a safer distance.
Supports both visible light and infrared modes.
Infrared mode can be used to spot Ghost Orbs.
Camera modes can be changed remotely from the vehicle laptop.
Live feeds can be viewed through the Phantom Detect app.
New Equipment: Wireless Camcorder
The new Wireless Camcorder can be mounted directly to a tripod for easier placement and monitoring.
The Wireless Camcorder can be mounted to the tripod.
The tripod can be picked up and carried while the camera remains attached.
Dynamic Light Detection
Lighting now has a much more direct impact on both players and paranormal activity.
Players are now given a dynamic Light Contribution Score based on how illuminated they actually are, rather than simply whether they are standing inside a room with the lights on.
The more illuminated you are, the slower your anxiety increases.
Standing directly near a light source provides more protection than simply being somewhere in a lit room.
Multiple nearby light sources can contribute to your overall illumination.
Your score updates dynamically as you move through the environment or lighting conditions change.
Ghosts can also react to lighting in new ways. Depending on the ghost and the situation, light may now influence its behavior, creating new reasons to consider where you're standing, which lights are active, and how much darkness surrounds you.
Cellphone UI Overhaul
The Phantom Detect app has received a complete UI overhaul!
Environmental CCTV cameras can now be viewed directly from the cellphone.
Added support for viewing feeds from the new Wireless Camcorder.
Redesigned the interface to make navigating between available camera feeds cleaner and easier.
Identifier App
The Identifier app has also received a major visual and information overhaul.
The main ghost selection screen now has a much cleaner layout.
Ghost information pages now include behavioral information.
Behavioral information can be unlocked after successfully identifying that ghost type.
The more ghosts you successfully identify, the more you'll learn about what makes each one unique.
Hunt & Network Improvements
We've made several improvements to synchronization during hunts and other rapidly changing paranormal events.
Photo Synchronization
Added time synchronization and lag compensation when taking photos.
Photo capture timing is now synchronized between players, helping ensure rapidly changing paranormal events are represented consistently for everyone involved in the capture.
Hunt Flicker Synchronization
Added time synchronization and lag compensation to ghost flickering during hunts.
Hunt flickers are now synchronized between players, greatly reducing situations where a ghost could appear visible to one player while being invisible to another at the same moment.
Hunt Cooldown
Hunt cooldowns are now stopped when a forced hunt is activated after disorientation.
Hunt Lighting
Lights that are already off now flicker at a much lower intensity while the ghost is hunting.
Ghost Behavior Adjustments
Behavior adjustments have been made to several existing ghost types:
Wisp
Strigoi
Forgotten
Demon
Bhoot
Keep an eye out - you may find that some familiar ghosts don't behave quite the way you remember.
Evidence Changes
EMF is no longer included as passive evidence in Identify.
Breakers & Lighting
We've made several adjustments to how ghosts interact with the investigation site's electrical system.
Adjusted how frequently ghosts interact with the breaker panel.
Ghosts can now turn the breaker on.
Light switches that were not directly interacted with no longer play their interaction sound when their state changes.
Equipment & Placement
Equipment placement should now feel more natural and predictable.
Placing equipment now begins with the item facing toward or away from the player as appropriate.
When picking up furniture in the HQ, its existing orientation is now preserved when the placement preview begins.
Fixes
Fixed the Stopwatch app keybind not working while dead.
Fixed players being able to interact with the environment while the cellphone was focused.
Players can no longer take photos of UV stains without a UV light/stick present.
Between 7 new ghosts, Ghost Orbs, the Wireless Camcorder, revamped cellphone apps, dynamic lighting, new ghost behaviors, and multiplayer synchronization improvements, there's a lot more to discover during your investigations.
See you on The Other Side!
