Hey everyone!
I've been hard at work on the November update! I usually aim to have these ready by the first week of the month, but this one might be closer to the second week. Currently, I’m focused on linking quests from Chapter 2, White Shallows, to the next area, the Long Road to Wynter. I’m really pleased with how the initial tests are shaping up!
So, what’s been accomplished? I’ve set up encounters with mercenary groups in White Shallows, each led by different leaders. Based on decisions you've made in past interactions, these groups will respond uniquely to you. There will be three factions in this map, and it's the first one you'll revisit after completing Chapter 3. This area leads to the capital, which will only be accessible once you've wrapped up your Chapter 3 quest.

Nomad elves:

I've been working on getting all the dialogue connections in place, ensuring that each interaction only appears when you have the required quest. For example, if you've made a specific decision, certain dialogues and outcomes will unfold accordingly. I still need to test scenarios where players take an aggressive stance against the loyalists of the former king—the Kingdom’s last remaining army—to confirm everything flows as intended.
I’m also preparing the Elvish camp by adding new dialogues and quests. Once you gain their support, the Elves and the Amber Blades will assist in handling the larger army of knights, allowing you safe passage to the next area.
One thing I forgot to mention in the last update: I've rebalanced the leveling system. After reaching level 10, each level now requires 6,000 XP. Due to these adjustments, previous saves may display UI issues with health and stamina or even negative stat points. Please start a new game for the best experience. I apologies for any inconvenience as I continue fine-tuning these mechanics to find the ideal balance for players and enemies.
This month’s tasks include finishing the quests for this area, adding more weapons like daggers, bows, and shields, and enriching the story with additional story elements. I feel these add extra depth to the game's storyline, complementing the quests and dialogues nicely.

I’ll be editing some of the sound effects from last month, as they turned out a bit quiet. These were recordings of my voice, so I'll be amplifying them to make them clearer.
I'm also adding more equipment and weapons overall and aiming to finish three new variations of an a new ability. Additionally, I’m working on more unique behaviors for units in Chapter 1. Last month, I updated archers and ranged units to retreat when players get close, and I hope to build on this.
I just wanted to share a quick post to keep you updated!
I also had the chance to showcase Rise of the Village Hero at Scottish Games Frenzy, which was fantastic—people really enjoyed playing the game!
Thank you for your support, and I’ll see you in the next update!
Best,
Silviu
