Hey everyone,
Welcome to another update! Let’s dive into what I’ve managed to accomplish so far:
First up, The Long Road to Wynter level is now fully complete in terms of design. It’s taken a while, but the terrain now looks exactly how I envisioned it. There may be some smaller elements of polish added over time, but for now, I’m happy with where it stands. All the dialogues and quests are also finished, and I’ve fully tested the pacifist branch. The aggressive path should work as well, but I’ll be running more tests over the weekend to confirm.
In terms of content, I’ve added more shields to the Cave System area in the Kingdom of Macin, specifically at the first shop in the Dwarven Assembly, located between Chapters 1 and 2. Additionally, I’ve added three new shields as rewards for completing pacifist quests in The Long Road to Wynter. All the shields added include the Dancing Barricade, Broken Promise, Round Shield, Light Shield of the Lost, and Vengeance Wall.
I’ve also made some adjustments to daggers by lowering their damage and requirements. Three new daggers have been added—two of which are available both in the shop and as drops, and one that’s exclusively in the shop at the keep. These are Omen, Dragonclaw and Misty Glass.
As for armour, two incomplete silver sets have been introduced, currently missing only the chest pieces: Oath of the Hunter and Deflector of Assassins. They wont get a chest piece probably but that is OK. I want to have some incomplete sets as well. These are at the shop at keep as well as the random drop for 1 set.
Player leveling has also been adjusted to balance progression. Now, players will reach level 2 at 2,000 experience points. From level 2 to 10, each level requires 4,000 experience; from level 10 to 15, each level requires 6,000 experience; and from level 15 to 20, each level requires 8,000 experience. This should help maintain balance, though I’ll continue tweaking as new equipment and weapons are added.
Finally, I’ve been working on something special that I plan to release within the demo around the holidays! I can’t reveal too much just yet (as I want it to be a surprise), but expect a special event announcement sometime in December.
Due to changes in player leveling and adjustments to enemy levels, it's probably best to start a new save, as your old save may be affected by these updates. I can only apologise for the inconvenience, but with larger updates like this, some tweaks are unavoidable.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you all have a great end to the week.
See you at the end of the month with my November final update.
Silviu
