Hello Junkland scavengers,
Finally getting around to post about Junklands updates! A lot of the games functionality and systems are on the way and I have been improving/polishing existing ones.
Menu is a Wip but will be a handy guide for surviving the Junklands!
Added more unlockable moves and special timing attacks for combat. As seen in earlier videos and posts you can time a perfect block against projectiles to reflect them back at enemies. In addition, we now have the ability to parry (perfect block against melee attacks) to stun enemies for those close range encounters. Then a perfectly time dodging will be rewarded with a shield stamina recovery bonus.
Reflect projectiles back at enemies
Parry close range enemies to stun them
Perfect dodge to regain shield stamina.
Rahr has more options with timed attacks to even the odds!
To add some additional spice to combat, tougher enemies will subject Rahr to Afflictions! Afflictions can be caused from special foe attacks or Direslime puddles left behind by foes. So get that shield handy and make sure you stay agile!
Afflictions:
Poison - Rahr receives small amount of damage over a small duration
Shock - Rahr is stunned for a few seconds
Rott - Rahr takes increased damage from attacks over a small duration
Corrode - Shield stamina recovers slower over a small duration.
All afflictions are temporary and will disappear in time!
What upgrades will Rahr have you say? When unearthing an Recycler, you'll be able to craft trinkets from blueprints you find, then equip trinkets to give Rahr an edge. Trinkets are empowering possessions that have a variety of perks.
A looksie at our wip Recycler Menu. Craft trinkets, Equip or swap trinkets and change your shield.
Different shields can be found, hidden all throughout Junklands. Each of them will have a cool perk or small ability for your play style.
Accessorize your shield for style or for gain!
Also added more collectables hidden throughout the world. Rahr will have to find and collect old smelly socks. Seems they have more value now in the wasteland. :D
Somebody wants you to find socks for their collection. One creature's trash is another creature's treasure!
A lot of solid progress was made last year and the game is coming together well! More updates soon!
I grew up playing a lot of awesome adventure and platform games like Croc, Gex, Crash, Spyro, Mario, Zelda, Medievil, Oddworld, Ratchet and Clank, Psychonauts and more. So my goal has been to create a really amazing and polished action-adventure game and making it solo has been a big effort, so its taking a bit of time. Hope you understand!
Thanks for reading
