🌱The First Step of the Astrobotanica Rework
Hello!
The biggest Astrobotanica update since launch is now available! Early Access allows us to shape the game together with our community, and this time we're introducing some major changes that will redefine many core gameplay systems.
1) HUD and Map Improvements
We're introducing the first UI improvements, including changes to the HUD and map system. For now, you can expect slightly updated controls designed around the refreshed interface, as well as a new exploration-based map reveal system. These are only the first steps toward a complete UI overhaul planned for the future.
2) New Resource: Energy
Energy is now becoming one of the most important resources in the game. It powers ship modules such as the CO₂ Generator and other advanced systems. Plants are the primary source of Energy, and once processed into tonics, they can be used to fuel your ship's technology.
3) Plant Aspects Reworked
Plants now feature the following aspects:
Detoxic - restores HP
Toxic - reduces HP
Antioxidant - restores CO₂
Oxidant - reduces CO₂
Energetic - restores Energy
Sedative - reduces Energy
Probiotic - adds Passive
Antibiotic - removes Passive
Passive - fills the digestion meter
4) Gates to New Areas
The game world has been divided into new regions, and progressing further now requires meeting specific conditions. Discover the right plants, tonics, and solutions to unlock access to previously unreachable locations.
5) Ship Interior Overhaul
The ship's cockpit has been expanded with functional modules, strengthening the ship's role as your primary base of operations throughout the adventure.
6) Plant Habitats
Plants will now primarily grow within dedicated habitats. By discovering new habitats, you'll also discover new species associated with specific biomes and environments.
7) Progression Changes
You'll now discover data discs throughout the world. Reading them requires upgrading your spacecraft, and each scan consumes a full reserve of stored Energy. New discs will guide you deeper into the game world, revealing fresh locations, mysteries, and challenges along the way.
8) Kickstarter Rewards
This update also introduces rewards for players who supported Astrobotanica during our Kickstarter campaign. Thank you once again for helping make this project possible!
9) And More...
We've also implemented numerous smaller improvements, fixes, and a few additions that you probably weren't expecting.
⚠️ Due to the extensive changes affecting many core systems, old save files are not compatible with the new version of the game!
⚠️ The P.R.I.M.A.L. progression system has been temporarily disabled.
Thank you for being part of the Astrobotanica community. Let's grow something truly extraordinary together! 🌱🌟
