As we approach the end of 2024, we want to take a moment to reflect on this incredible year and share some exciting updates coming your way for both Contractors and Contractors Showdown.
We hope you enjoyed the Halloween headquarters and Pumpkin Head Zombies in Contractors! We know many of you have been asking about our roadmap, and we’re thrilled to announce that a major update is scheduled on November. For Contractors Showdown, we’re especially proud of everything we’ve built together this year. We started 2024 with Alpha tests, and thanks to your feedback, we’re ending it with a brand-new transformation designed just for you.
Now, let’s dive into what’s next for both games!

With these new features and tools enhancing player mobility—thanks to our amazing modding community—we’re confident that Contractors will deliver fresh, exciting experiences. Vehicles and zip lines will bring a whole new rhythm to the game, adding layers of strategy and dynamic movement that keep gameplay fast-paced and engaging.

Contractors Showdown update - Transformation [The Next Chapter]
We know it’s been quiet lately, and we owe you an explanation.
The recent trends in player activity prompted us to pause and rethink the future direction for Contractors Showdown. Our small team at Caveman Studio has been working hard to craft a major update that will bring fresh intensity and depth to the game, with new systems and gameplay features that build on what you already love about Showdown.
Today, we’re excited to hint at what’s to come: Contractors Showdown is preparing for a major evolution. With this update, we’re doubling down on immersion, strategy, and player-driven excitement to create a revitalized experience. We can’t share everything just yet, but rest assured, playtests are on the way, and we’re eager for you to experience it firsthand.
Here are some exciting features that we are working on. Due to the file size limits, for detailed sneak peak, please check out our official website: www.contractorsvr.com/devblog
#1 Mag Palming will finally be available in Showdown! Experience smoother tactical reloads to keep the action intense and uninterrupted! #2 Expanded Arsenal: New Weapon Variants and More Categories. #3 Attachment Rails, Tactical Flashlights, and New Magazine Sizes!! -- Customize Your loadout Like Never Before! #4 New areas have been introduced on the island, including a mall and a hospital. #5 Players won’t be alone—matches will now feature a new crew of AI enemies to battle! #6 Team up with your friends in custom lobbies for a more personal gameplay experience.
We know how much the classic Battle Royale mode means to many of you, and we want to reassure you that it’s here to stay. The fast-paced, adrenaline-filled BR experience will remain a core part of Contractors Showdown, so you’ll still be able to dive into those intense matches you know and love. With this update, you’ll get the best of both worlds, enjoying the original BR mode alongside a fresh new gameplay experience—each offering its excitement and challenges.
For the upcoming “new season” of Contractors Showdown, we know you probably have a lot of questions—and we’re thrilled to see your excitement! Rest assured, we’ll be sharing more sneak peeks and details very soon. We’d also like to invite all of you to participate in the upcoming playtest, and we can’t wait to work together again to make this “new season” the best one yet!
