Hi everyone~
In the coming Chinese Lunar New Year, this is the greetings from the development team.
Earlier, it was mentioned that our team had devoted to various wine pairings, and now is the perfect opportunity to share with you. Following this, we'll include some trivia so that while you're tasting, you can also experience the stories behind them.
The protagonist of this session is the white wine 'Riesling,' which is available right from the beginning of the game.

The food pairing for this is the Cantonese dim sum specialty, 'Spring Rolls,' one of the characteristic dishes among the eight major Chinese cuisines.

Riesling is a white wine with a wide range of sweetness.
Therefore, when pairing, it's particularly interesting to consider its sweetness relative to other wine varieties.

We recommend pairing it with
●dry, off-dry
●The suitable drinking temperature are 8~12℃
Spring rolls with a crispy outer shell and mild seasoned vegetable filling pair excellently with a fresh and pure white wine. The slightly oily aspect of the dish complements the pronounced acidity of Riesling, creating a more balanced combination when enjoyed together. Furthermore, the lemon and citrus notes often found in Riesling are particularly suitable for dishes infused with Southeast Asian spices. For you guys who enjoy a sweet and sour taste, be sure to give it a try.
Interesting Fact:
Aged Riesling wines, when uncorked, often emit a noticeable petrol aroma,
Many seasoned drinkers highly appreciate this characteristic.
However, for those seeking fruity aromas in their wines, this characteristic might be off-putting.
Due to regional preferences, people from different areas also adjust winemaking techniques accordingly. Usually, in Germany, many winemakers prefer the fresh fruity aroma found in young Rieslings. Therefore, they tend to produce wines with shorter aging periods to avoid the presence of petrol notes in their products.

It's interesting that Riesling happens to be very suitable for long-term cellaring, with the potential to develop surprising qualities even after aging for over a century. Therefore, in regions like Alsace, France, winemakers are more willing to accept petrol notes and experiment with longer cellar.

By the way, in the game, please also note that each customer will have their own preferred flavors!
In the end
Our team's wine consultant often reminds us that there is no absolute standard for wine pairing. After all, everyone's preferences and tolerance levels vary. We've found an interesting combination and are happy to share it with everyone. We hope you'll experience this enjoyment when you try it.
Similarly, the team is currently refining how to better integrate wine and dining culture into the game mechanics. We also aim to recreate the joy of this experience as faithfully as possible.
Wishing everyone a Happy Lunar New Year once again!
ps. Please add Timeout bistro to your Wishlist; it would be the greatest encouragement for us.
