Greetings, Headmasters! 🧙♂️
Hotfix 0.7.1 is now available for Wizdom Academy!
This update focuses on fixing several issues reported after Major Update 0.7.0, especially around damaged classrooms, trials, teacher salaries, request timers, Learning Tree upgrades, Discord links, translations, and save/load behavior.
We also added two new Trials Ground upgrades to the Learning Tree and made a few quality-of-life improvements to teacher profiles, graduate choices, memory management, and the end of demo screen.
Let’s dive in!
Added two new Learning Tree upgrades for the Trials Ground.
Efficient Channeling reduces the mana cost of a trial session by 25%.
This reduced mana cost is now shown directly in the trial price before launching the session.
Expanded Trial Circle allows two additional students to take their trial at the same time.
This upgrade applies to every Trials Ground in the academy.
The game now manages memory more cleanly behind the scenes, including progressive texture loading and cleanup of leftover artwork from removed subjects.
Teacher salaries now scale more naturally with your academy’s progression.
Early applicants should now remain simple and affordable.
Costly specialists now start appearing only once your Mana Wellspring has grown.
Salary variations within the same progression stage should now feel far less erratic.
Choosing the fate of your graduates is now easier: opening the choice window from any Trials Ground now shows every graduate waiting across the whole academy.
Teachers now display the face defined in their character profile instead of receiving a random one, making their appearance consistent.
The end of demo screen now reveals itself smoothly in stages instead of appearing all at once.
End of demo screen buttons can no longer be clicked before they are visible.
The thank you text at the top of the end of demo screen has been removed, leaving only the logo during the first moment.
The tooltip explaining why a trial cannot begin is now translated instead of always appearing in English.
Building names have been corrected across all 13 languages.
Several building names, including the Trials Ground, the Order’s Lounge, and the Mana Wellspring, were mistranslated, left in English, or missing translations in some languages.
Deadline request windows are now fully localized in all 13 languages.
Deadline request windows now name the character involved directly instead of using generic wording.
Building refusal messages are now translated across all 13 languages.
Building refusals now explain the issue in the selected language, including missing resources, blocked placement, unsuitable ground, invalid spots, or maximum number reached.
Damaged or worn down classrooms should no longer refuse teacher assignment without explanation.
If an academy was already stuck with a damaged classroom refusing teachers, the save now repairs itself automatically when loaded.
The Report a bug button in the Settings now opens the same public Discord invite used elsewhere in the game.
Teacher applicants should no longer appear with traits meant for students.
Student-only traits no longer affect the salary shown on teacher applicant cards.
Teachers reapplying to your academy no longer ask for a higher salary because of the informative village tag showing where they came from.
Graduate students returning as teachers no longer request a much higher salary for every diploma earned.
Construction and interface sound effects no longer play during the loading screen.
The Favourite Subject badge has been removed from the teacher application card, as it had no gameplay effect on hiring cost or teaching results.
Countdown decision windows above characters now correctly resume their timer after loading a save.
Staff ultimatums can once again expire properly if left unanswered after reloading.
Requests linked to characters who are no longer at the academy now close quietly on load instead of leaving floating icons behind.
Fixed a technical issue that could cause repeated errors when a character carrying an active request left the academy.
Cancelling a trial now releases every waiting student, not only the first one.
Cancelling a trial now also releases the room’s teacher.
Trial rooms should no longer keep stale exam notifications after cancellation.
Requests already answered above a character are now cleared properly on load, unless they are still tied to an unfinished task.
The Headmaster can no longer receive a quest or complaint meant for another character.
This fix also applies to saves already in progress.
The Discord button on the end of demo screen now opens the same server invite as the main menu.
Several Learning Tree upgrades no longer lose their effect after saving and reloading.
Faster trials, shorter classes, and cheaper world map construction now keep their benefits after reload.
Saves already in progress now automatically recover these upgrade effects on next load.
Mana Breeze and Mana Cyclone upgrades now keep their windmill production bonus after saving and reloading.
These windmill bonuses now also apply correctly to windmills built after the upgrade was purchased.
Saves where these upgrades were already bought now automatically recover the correct bonus on next load.
Hotfix 0.7.1 should make the game more stable after Update 0.7.0, especially when loading saves, managing teachers, handling trials, and dealing with character requests.
Thank you again for your feedback, bug reports, and support throughout Early Access.
See you in the next update, Headmasters!
